Situated in the fertile Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, Wayward Distillery has led the charge in honey-based spirits since 2014. Each of our spirits are crafted on a base of sustainable honey, supporting local agriculture and getting a little Unruly while doing it!

Honey is a delightful and sustainable resource, and we are proud to support BC agriculture at Wayward each and every one of our spirits is precisely designed to be sippable on their own and enjoyed in the tastiest of cocktails. We like how delicious our honey-centric spirits are, and we feel good about aligning our business with people who are also deliberate in their consumption choices, contributing to a healthy and diverse ecosystem. Welcome to our Wayward life, we invite you to join us in our pursuit to #BeeUnruly.

Unique in both texture and taste, Wayward’s spirits celebrate honey – we do not hide our base product by filtering mechanically or chemically during distillation – and this is deliberate.

Visit us at our distillery to enjoy certified BC Craft Distillery spirits, fermented and distilled from 100% BC honey. We invite you in to taste and experience just how delicious Unruly vodka and gin can be with honey as the starting ingredient. Look for us at local BC Farmers Markets, at your favourite private liquor stores, and in the best bars and restaurants here on Vancouver Island, across the province, and even internationally.

We have two demonstration hives at Wayward, lovingly cared for by local beekeeper Rachel, so that we can help educate our guests and community about the value and need for healthy honeybee populations. We work with an apiary in the Peace Region of BC who care deeply about the health and long term sustainability of pollination, bees, and BC grown agricultural produce. When not out pollinating, the bees rest on clover fields, resulting in honey production that is supplied to Wayward Distillery.

When we first started working together, the apiary had 300 hives - we’ve grown, so they’ve been able to grow up to 1,700 hives. That means more food, grown by BC farmers, is being pollinated by BC bees. Wayward is a net positive food producer.
